Surveying, use of electronic distance meters, geodesy, positioning using satellites, particularly the Global Positioning System (GPS); Use of different coordinate systems and the transformations between them, the calibration and testing of electronic distance meters, the development of testing facilities for these instruments & Gravity measurements on the earths surface can detect and map underground mass anomalies, such as tunnels and mines.
