1996 Fellow
Australian Academy of Science (Australia)
Fellow, Australian Academy of Science, (FAA), 1996. This is the most prestigious institution in Australia for scientists and engineering scientists. It elects only one engineer a year. Elected for his seminal contributions to the basic science of multiphase flows
1994 Foreign Fellow
Royal Academy of Engineering, UK (United Kingdom)
Foreign Fellow, Royal Academy of Engineering (UK), 1994. This award is highly significant international recognition. There are only three other Australian fellows. The citation read: Distinguished as the inventor of the Jameson flotation cell, which is recognised world-wide as a major contribution to the engineering of froth flotation. The foundation of this achievement was his fundamental work on the hydrodynamics of bubble formation. His work is seen as an exemplary model of successful exploitation of excellent academic work.
